Montana has been part of the Helping Hands Humane Society family for over 100 days now, and we think it’s time the world got to know this sweet, soulful pup. Estimated to be about a year old, Montana is a large Beagle mix weighing around 40 pounds. She came to us as a stray on June 16th and has been patiently waiting for the right family to come along.
Currently, Montana is thriving in a foster home where she’s slowly coming out of her shell. She’s a shy girl, especially around strangers, but once she’s had time to bond, she becomes a loyal and loving companion. Her foster family reports that she’s doing well with house training, is comfortable in a crate, and displays classic Beagle behavior—chasing squirrels and rabbits with joyful enthusiasm.
Montana also gets along well with the resident dog in her foster home, showing that she can be a great sibling to another calm, friendly pup. Because of her nervous nature, we’re looking for a quieter, calmer home without small children—somewhere she can feel safe and build trust at her own pace.
One of Montana’s most striking features is her eyes—each one a mesmerizing mix of blue and brown, giving her a truly unique and beautiful gaze.
If you think Montana might be the right fit for your family, we’d love to help you get to know her. Since she’s in a foster home, interested adopters should contact our adoption team at 785-233-7325 to schedule a meet-and-greet appointment.
Montana may be shy, but she has so much love to give. Help us find her the peaceful, loving home she deserves.
