Mark your calendars for a wild and wonderful cause! On Thursday, October 2, the Topeka Zoo invites the community to come together for Love Your Zoo Giving Day, a 24-hour celebration of conservation, education, and the incredible animals that call the zoo home.
This annual event is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a chance to show your love and support for one of Topeka’s most cherished institutions. The goal this year? Raise $25,000 in just one day to help care for animals, enhance exhibits, and support vital conservation efforts.
Why Your Support Matters
Every dollar donated helps provide:
- Specialized feeders for primates ($150–$250)
- Toys for giraffes ($260)
- Monthly food for Tank the hippo ($330)
- Meals for lions Asante and Tatu ($900)
- Enrichment tools for elephants ($1,100)
- Dental exams for tigers ($1,500)
- And even feeding all the animals for a month ($10,830)
Thanks to a generous matching gift, donations will be matched at 50%—up to $13,000. That means your gift goes even further:
- $20 becomes $30
- $100 becomes $150
- $500 becomes $750
