Topeka Christmas Light Displays

Christmas is the most magical time of the year, and nothing captures the festive spirit better than a dazzling display of holiday lights! Whether you want to enjoy a drive-through wonderland, walk amongst fabulous decorations, or admire a synchronized show, there is something for everyone in Topeka this year! We are going to highlight some of the best Christmas light displays in the city, both paid and free, that you can visit with your family and friends.

  • Zoo Lights: Enjoy a festive night at the Topeka Zoo, where you can see amazing light displays, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and stop by the cozy holiday village to grab some hot cocoa and snacks. Admission is $12 for adults and $9 for kids.
  • Potwin Place Christmas Display: Experience a free drive-through wonderland in the historic Potwin neighborhood, where each block features a themed holiday scene depicted on hand made wooden cutouts. You can also admire the beautifully decorated houses along the way. You can access it by driving north on Greenwood Avenue from Willow Avenue.
  • Winter Wonderland: Support a good cause and enjoy a spectacular 2-mile drive-through holiday light display at the Shawnee Lake Campground. Winter Wonderland is the largest fundraising event for TARC, a non-profit organization that provides services to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The suggested donation is $10 per car.
  • Neighborhood Light Displays: If you want to see some impressive light displays in your own backyard, you can check out some of the neighborhood gems in Topeka. For example, the Kingman Christmas Village on 1935 NW Polk Street or the Peace Family Christmas Program on 655 SW Westchester Road.
