These bands are working to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shinedown are the latest band to announce that they are trying to help in the midst of crisis. They announced that they are putting up an exclusive shirt on their merch store that includes an unreleased track from the Amaryllis recording sessions. The shirt will cost you a pretty penny, but you get the free download and they’re donating 100% of the profits to an organization called Direct Relief who help provide equipment to medical professionals. Check out what Brent Smith, the lead singer, had to say about the effort to help those in need:

Avenged Sevenfold took to their social media accounts to announce that they were going to try to help flatten the curve be incentivizing social distancing. If you remain socially distant for a week straight and send them a photo of yourself in front of your bed with a new word given at a random time every day, they’ll send you a free merch item. To take it a step further, they’ve even closed their merch store for the time being. Check out their statement below:

Avenged Sevenfold are one of the biggest metal bands in the world right now and they can afford to do this, but that won’t stop the other bands from doing their part.

Ice Nine Kills, a group known for their horrifying music and insane live shows, have released two limited merch items and they’ll be donating funds raised from those items to Sweet Relief and Music Cares to help send aid to those who need it right now.

Then there are bands like Nothing More who want to raise awareness while having a good time and making some cash along the way. They’ve released a new “Stay at Home Tour 2020” shirt on their merch site. Not going to lie, I may have ordered this one.

Buying a t-shirt can help support a band who can’t tour. So can buying records and cds. If you’re able, please consider giving some of your favorite bands, artists, filmmakers, etc a little bit of support.
