Think You Pay To Much For Vehicle Taxes? You May Be Right

When I moved to Kansas, I did not realize that I would have to pay a vehicle tax on my car each year. Living in Illinois, you only had to pay for your sticker to put on the back of your licence plate. Now a new study puts Kansas on a list that you want to be on the bottom of.

According to Wallet Hub, the Sunflower State is in the top 10 when it comes to paying the most for your vehicle taxes. Kansas is number 43 out of 50 states and the District of Columbia. The amount you pay on a $25,000 vehicle is $502, which is at 2.01%. At least we don’t pay as much as the residents of Virginia. They are on the top of the list with a whopping $1,011 tax per year or a rate of 4.05%. Our neighbors Missouri came in at 47th. Their rate is at 2.5% and they pay $623.

Then there are 25 states that do not charge you a dime when it comes to vehicle taxes. Many people take that into consideration when they want to make a career choice to better themselves. Will this make you reconsider how you purchase your next vehicle?
