Topeka Is Home To Cheap Beer!

You will be surprised to find out what other people pay across the U.S.

Simple. Thrifty. Living conducted a survey to see how much a case of beer would cost in each state. The findings were very interesting and Kansas is close to the top, but not in a bad way.

Here is how the survey was conducted, according to the article

We used the same methodology as our 2017 version of this study. We found the prices from national or regional retailers in up to 10 zip codes in each state for a 24-pack of Bud Light and Miller Lite. We chose those beers and that volume due to the national popularity. The zip codes chosen were a mix of urban and rural areas to get a representation of different parts of each state. We averaged the prices of the two beers together and rounded to the nearest cent. The numbers reflect prices only, taken from the retailers, and do not reflect any additional taxes or fees, such as recycling fees.

The survey found that Kansas came in 6th cheapest for a case a beer, with an average price of $16.07. They are tied with Michigan at that price.

Then there is the state who comes out on top for the cheapest beer. That would be the state of Illinois. A case of beer costs $15.20. There is a reason for that. With as bad as how the state is run and how unhappy people are to live there, then there is a reason why beer is so cheap there.

Who has the most expensive case of beer? That goes to our friends in the Northwest……..Alaska. It costs over $30 for a case. Now, that is some expensive brew.
