We’ve been waiting for the official announcement of this project for almost 8 months!

We first heard about the project back in February when Ethan interviewed John just after their concert in Topeka was announced. Listen to that interview below.

Today, John Cooper of Skillet officially announced his new metal side project Fight The Fury.

Cooper commented on the genesis of Fight The Fury, explaining, “I am so pumped about the release of Fight The Fury! This is a side of me and my music that I don’t get to show very often. It takes me back to when I first heard metal and the reason I fell in love with music. It’s raw and unfiltered and emotional.”

Cooper continued, “Fight The Fury is for all of the fans out there who like the heavy side of Skillet, but want a super heavy album. I hope they feel the emotion of the songs that we have put together because this project is for them.”

The debut project from Fight The Fury titled Still Breathing is set to be released via Atlantic Records on October 26th. The band will tour for the very first time in Russia in december, but they teased that a North American Tour announcement would be happening in the coming weeks.

For those worried about Skillet breaking up, all of the band members have take to social media and denounced that idea. Skillet will continue on as is.
