Two Kansas Metros Make the List of Happiest American Cities

Source: WalletHub

The website Wallethub.com has revealed a list of the happiest cities in America. The credit score and report site examined each city based on 28 indicators of happiness, “ranging from depression rate to income-growth rate to average leisure time spent per day.” It comes as no surprise that a California city would top the list… Fremont Ca came in first… Detroit dead last.

But what about our area? Where did our Kansas cities score on this set of 28 ‘indicators’? Well, even with all its glory, sports and BBQ, Kansas City could only muster up a spot at 97.  With a little smirk, we noticed that survey Wichita was 129th, which kind of confirms another study we saw recently that said it was one of the most underrated cities in the Midwest. But here’s the real stumper… Overland Park came in at 15! Overland Park? Nothing wrong with it, obviously, but if Overland Park scored so well… we would expect Topeka to be mentioned somewhere in the Top 100, right? So, where is Topeka on this wonderful little list?

It didn’t show up.

Which just goes to show you that sometimes you have to take these lists with a grain of salt.
